2. When they saw Ahmed, he was out of breath. He had run for 2 hours. ou "he had  been running for two hours" si tu as appris ce past perfect continuous , il insiste sur la purée)

past perfect = had + participe passé. Exprime une action qui s'est passée avant celle énoncée au prétérit.
