DIALOGUE BETWEEN A FARMER AND A FUTURE WOOFER - DIALOGUE ENTRE UN FERMIER
ET UN FUTUR WOOFER
Lenny: I'm pleased to meet you.
Alison: Nice to meet you too! My name is Alison, I'm 20 years old and I'm from Annecy. I am a student
Lenny: My name is Lenny. I'm English. I like welcoming young people. I love gardening and photography. I need one or
two people every year to help me pick up the walnuts and my vegetables. In exchange, I provide free accommodation and
meals. My last woofer was named Lucy, from Belgium. When will you be available?
Alison: I will be available in October during the walnuts season.
Lenny: Woofing is a great experience. I really like meeting people, sharing and teaching my know-how (savoir-faire).
Woofing is very interesting, enriching! There is a real exchange between the woofers and the farmers. I am very
open-minded!
Alison: So am I. I am very open-minded too! I like socializing and sharing values, philosophies, cultures and different
experiences. I am very interested in organic agriculture and sustainable development.
Lenny: It is very pleasant here. We go to the local market and we organize cultural visits. It is very interesting. It is so
relaxing and peaceful here that people from the city come back with a very positive state of mind. They feel very well after.
Alison: What are the working hours?
Lenny: You'll have flexible working hours.
Alison: OK, great! I am impatient to start!
Lenny: Have a nice trip. Take care, and see you in October.
Alison: Thank you very much. See you in October!
