Lord and Lady Cavendish live in a beautiful castle situated in the Midlands, called Chatsworth. Lord Cavendish is very rich but much older than his young wife. Lady Cavendish doesn’t love her husband; she only wants his fortune for herself. She often dreams of the day when Lord Cavendish will die and she will be the owner of Chatsworth Moreover, she‘s got a friend who is a barrister in London. His name’s Charles Grey. Charles would like to marry Lady Cavendish. Sometimes she visits him and she tells him about her dreams. She’s talking to him now.Lady Cavendish: Charles, if my husband was dead, I’d be rich, and Chatsworth would be mine.Charles Grey: Yes, I know.
