My fifth birthday -- I remember it so well... I had a big party, I invited all my classmates, their parents, all my first cousins, their parents, and even my teacher. The problem abou birthdays were that I always invited a huge crowd, because everybody knew me, because of my handicap.  I couldn't walk, nor lift up my arms above my head, they just wouldn't go. I was always in a wheelchair, and I was a favorite at school. Anyways, at each birthday, people would give me presents before the day, and I felt bad not to invite them, so, they always ended up at my party. It took a long time to prepare for my birthday, but my harworking Mum and Dad worked to the bone trying to make everything the best. They were really the best parents anyone could have. Even though we didn't have enough money for all kinds of fancy things, Dad hired someone to do fireworks at 9 : 16 pm, because that was the exact time I was born. My dad also rented out a merry-go-round, and some horses. When the day came, the crowd got denser and denser, and the pile of presents : higher and higher. It was really nice, but after the fireworks, it started raining. Mum and her sister-in-law were fighting, again, because they never get along. The atmosphere was quite fiery around them. When the rain ceased, everyone helped my parents to take my presents outside. Dad had decorated a chair, to make it look like a throne, then he picked me up, and place me on the beautilfu chair. I opened each present : I had around eighty-five. There were several shirts, skirts, and lots of dresses. I got a number of shoes, and my parents gave me a new wheelchair. This wheelchair wasn't just a plain black, it was white, pink and purple, with red roses on it. It was beautiful! I got three bracelets. And best of all ... I got three kittens ! I named them Rolly, Polly and Dolly after examining their caracters, and personnalities.

That was the last time I had a proper birthday, before both Mum and Dad, my two sets of grandparents, three of my aunts, their husband and children, passed away in a bus accident...
