After several years spent working as a shepherd in Gaelic Ireland, he managed to escape. Then he returned to Ireland with a mission: to evangelise the whole country. To this day, the missionary is known as the founder of Irish Christianity. According to legend, he tried to explain the notion of the Holy Trinity with the help of a shamrock, the symbol of St. Patrick's Day. It’s said that Patrick used the shamrock to explain the concept of the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.To this day, the shamrock is the national emblem of Ireland, and the Irish wear it with pride in their buttons on St. Patrick's Day.St Patrick's Day is The National Day in Ireland.
