Sydney was the site of the first British colony in
Australia, which was set up in 1788. Someone who
lives in Sydney and its suburbs is colloquially known
as a "Sydneysider". Many foreigners think that Sydney is Australia's capital; however that distinction goes to Canberra. Sydney's most famous icon, the Sydney Opera House, was completed in 1973, taking 16 years and 10,000 construction workers to build, with a final total coast of £102 million more than 14 times the originally intented price.It's "sister landmark", the Sydney Harbour Bridge, was finished in 1932 and took 272,000 litres of paint to cover- just for the first coat. had from atop' Sydney Tower Eye in the heart ot
the city. The tower allows you to stand 250 metres
above sea level with 360 degree views of the Sydbet skyline, Darling Harbour and the Blue Mountains
