Today, it is often a sugar or chocolate egg. In Belgium, as in France, it is a traditional gift offered on the morning of Easter Sunday. In the northeast quarter of France, Switzerland, Great Britain and the United States, the symbol of Easter is a rabbit or a hare; in other French regions or other countries of the world, bells have the same function. In eastern countries, they are colored and decorated.
