bonsoir,

- Hi there !
- what’s up ?
- I have a question for you
-tell me !
- If I remember correctly you are recovering from an eating disorder aren’t you ?
- Yes, why do you ask me that ?
I'm worried about my cousin, it's been a while since I noticed that she eats very little. She pretends she is not hungry but I think she lies. This morning I tried to talk to her but I think I was a little too direct...
- How surprising !
- Don’t laugh at me !
- Sorry, too tempting… Go on
- Yeah so I was a little too direct and she withdrawn into herself and now I’m pretty sure she is sulky.
- You know, most of the time when you have an eating disorder, you don’t realize it. In my case, it was the summer before my freshman year of high school that I dinstintly remember beginning to practice restriction habits. It began as a simple regime based on calorie counting and exercising.
At first, it was even cool, people noticed that I had lost weight, I had lots of compliments and felt so confident. And the eating disorder crept into my life. I couldn't stop counting my calories, it became a real obsession and I still saw myself overweight even though I was clearly not.

- Yeah I’ve already heard about that before. It’s called body distortion, isn’t it ?

- That’s it, and in my opinion, she should see a professional, like a nutritionist before it gets worse. I’s better to be safe than sorry

Sagot :

Bonjour,

- Hi there !

- What’s up ?

- I have a question for you.

- Go ahead, tell me !

- If I remember correctly, you are recovering from an eating disorder, aren’t you ?

- Yes, why are you asking me that ?

I'm worried about my cousin. It's been a while since I noticed that she doesn't eat normally ; she eats not much. She pretends she is not hungry but I think she is lying. This morning I tried to talk to her but I think I was a little too direct...

- How surprising !

- Don’t laugh at me !

- Sorry, it was too tempting… Go on.

- So yeah, I realized that I was a little too direct and she withdrawn into herself. Now I’m pretty sure she is sulky...

- You know, most of the time, when you have an eating disorder, you don’t realize it. For example. in my case, it was during the summer before my freshman year of high school. At that moment, I distinctly remember beginning to practice restriction habits. It began as a simple regime based on calorie counting and exercising.

At first, it was even cool ; people noticed that I had lost weight. I received lots of compliments and felt so confident. However, as time passed, the eating disorder crept into my life. I couldn't stop counting my calories, it became a real obsession and I continued seeing myself overweight even though I was clearly not.

- Yeah I’ve already heard about that before. It’s called body distortion, right ?

- That’s it, and in my opinion, she should see a professional, like a nutritionist before it gets worse. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

J’espère t’avoir aidé ^^

Bonne journée et bonne continuation.
