Sagot :
Bonjour.
The segregation in the 60s was about separating the "whites" from the "colored". Most of the "colored" population were either African, Asian or South American. They were limited to go to some buildings. Even the toilets were marked for one side "for the whites" and on the other side "for the colored". Most theatre managers prohibited "colored" people to enter as because it was an entertaining place exclusive to the "white" community. They didn't have the permission to go to the hotels where "white" people stayed in and instead had to go to special hotels for the "colored". The "colored" had their own guide book called the Green Book, which showed places that weren't prohibited to enter. The segregation was a discriminating era, it led to tons of chaos causing "colored" people to protest against the government. Without for their actions, our society today wouldn't have been equal. I hope you learned a lot from my story, my grandson.
Voilà.
J'espère t'avoir aidé(e).
