N. B. : Cet phrase m'a l'air un peu ambigue. Tu pourrais aussi dire :  I last saw (see) him in Japan. He told (tell) me he took (take) a boat to America and that he tried (try) to fulfill  the American Dream.  Ça dépend de ce que tu veux dire  : soit il est déjà allé, soit il va y aller.

c. Who was talking (talk) to you when I met (meet) you at the port?

d. She was thinking (think) about her new life when the boat arrived

(arrive) in America.

e. The immigrants were going (go) to America when a storm slowed
