1) The characters are Jan Hayward and his grand-father.

2) The scene takes place in Murdock Lake Ontario.

3) There's one part where Jan Hayward talks about his childhood  "I loved fishing when I was a little boy" and there's an other part where he is older and his grand-father passed away "I knew it wouldn't be the same without grandpa who passed away 50 years ago."

4) He would like to say to his grand-father what an important part of his life those fishing trips were.

5) I think the memory of these fishing trips with his grand-father makes the narrator sad, nostalgic and happy...
