Dear mom and dad,
It’s been a few months now that I started my new life as a gold miner in California and I won’t hide anything to you, there has been a lot of challenges. Gold mines can be hazardous places but thankfully we use protective gear especially when we have to use harmful chemicals such as mercury to recover gold. These chemicals give me headaches sometimes. I’m lucky because I have a lot of friends and during the weekends we usually go on road trips to explore the coast. I’ve been to the Yosemite National Park lately and it was amazing ! We went camping and we had the occasion to rock climb and hike. I’ve seen black bears, deers and even coyotes ! So despite my challenging job, I still get to live the American dream. I hope I will be able to buy soon a house so you can come visit me !
