Bonjour voici une parti de ma notion '' mythe et hero ''

I am going to talk about the notion « Myths and Heroes ». A myth is a traditional representation idealized and sometines false concerning a fact, a man or an idea. And the hero is a person who is admired for having done something very brave for example change the world.



Joseph Campbell, has discovered through several searches of the basic steps that each hero passes. He calls this structure the monomyth.Lucas, the creator of Star Wars claims that Campbell’s monomyth was an aspiration for his films and made Star Wars popular.Many of Campbell’s followers define the stages of his monomyth in different ways. We will explain some steps of the hero’s journey, seen in class.



First step the ordinary world, the heroes exist in a world considered ordinary but it is hero one characteristic different from the others.For example, Dorothy is an orphan living with her uncle and aunt in Kansas. Second stage the call to adventure is the moment when the Hero is confronted with a problem in the Wizard of Oz the region is attacked by a cyclone.Then, there is the encounter of the editor, an assistant who arrives to guide the hero throughout the journey. Dorothy and help by the Northern Witch who shows her the way to follow. After arriving at the Palace of Oz she must face the wicked witch of the West, It’s the encounter with the enemy.The last trial call also death trial , Dorothy must face the many tricks of the witch who wants to kill her. After there is the way back, Dorothy sees that the Wizard of Oz is none other than an ordinary man without any power. Many of Campbell’s followers define the stages of his monomyth in different ways.

I will first explain some steps of the hero’s journey, (seen in class) (t’as pas besoin de le dire.)

Then, In a second and last part I will demonstrate how the Wizard Of Oz is part of a myth.

First of all, the ordinary world is the very first hero’s step according to Campbell which means that a hero can be an ordinary man who lives in an ordinary world. For example, In The Wizard of OZ, Dorothy is an orphan living with her uncle and aunt in Kansas.

Then, the second stage is the call to adventure. It is  is the moment when the Hero is confronted with a problem. In the Wizard of Oz, for instance, the region is attacked by a cyclone.

Then, the hero meets his mentor,(editor en anglais c’est l’éditeur ou le rédacteur en chef) an assistant who manages (arrive c'est arriver à un endroit) to guide him/her  throughout the journey. Dorothy is helped by the Northern Witch who shows her the path to follow. After arriving at the Palace of Oz she must cope with the western wicked witch. This represents the encounter with the enemy.

Finally, the last trial also called death trial is part. Dorothy has to frustrate the witch in her plan because the latter (cette dernière, ça reprend la sorcière intends to kill Dorothy.

After Dorothy manages to get rid of (se débarrasser de )the witch, she realizes that the Wizard of Oz is a mere (simple) human without any power. there is the way back,. Dorothy by finding the Southern witch who grants he a wish, called the reward (il faut le dire différemment) stage.

En gras ce que j'ai modifié mais il y a des choses à exprimer differemment et il faut que je voie avec toi ce que tu voulais dire, les étape qui jalonne le parcours du héro d'après Campbell, je ne les ai pas en tête :)
