Notion: Mythes et Héros, ici je parle que de la notion d'héros.
The notion I’m going to deal with is heroes. First of all, I’m going to give the definition of a hero. A hero is a person who is admired for his courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. To illustrate this notion, I will talk about modern-day heroes. We can wonder how can an ordinary person make the world a better place. First, I will explain why ordinary people can become heroes in our eyes. Then, I will reflect on the influence or impact they have on societies.
To begin with, people are used to think that real heroes have superpowers. Yet, it should be borne in mind that everybody has the potential to become a hero. Indeed, a modern-day hero is a person who has performed a heroic act or simply our own personal hero, our role model, who we look up to.
Three young Americans prevented a terrorist attack on the Paris-bound express train on August 23rd 2015.
For example, people who became heroes after thwarting a train attack.
They saved the lives of the passengers on the train by removing the terrorist’s weapon and ere therefore heroes in the eyes of the people they saved.
But there are also everyday heroes such as the firefighters or the police indeed they are the heroes of September 11. 2001. On September 11, 2001, three planes were hijacked by terrorists and crashed into the World Trade Center, this attack was claimed by Osama Ben Laden. This attack killed more than three thousand people. Firefighters and police officers showed courage, strength and determination to save people. That’s why they became heroes in the eyes of the people they saved.
Then, heroes have an influence on societies, indeed we can take the example of Marianne, a woman who is the symbol of France, she saved the country during the French Revolution of 1789. It is often depicted, in painting, on coins or stamps. Today it is considering the emblem of France and the population refersto it. There are also firefighters ans police officiers who are well regarded and give people a sense of security.
In conclusion, heroes are therefore very present in the life of every man. Men take examples from them and each of us has our own definition of a hero.
