Bonjour,

Voici mon travail:
It was Bath's wife's turn to tell us her story. She chooses to tell us about her many marriages and why they were so many. She started with these few words: "you may not believe my whole story but know that everything is true and that you will not hear a story more real and sadder than that of my five marriages". Then she began her story: "I was born in Bath and lived there for a long time. There, there is a witch who reads the future. Nobody killed her because she warns residents if the city is attacked. So, on a rainy day, I was walking in the forest when the rain started to fall and I started to run towards the city when I saw the house of this witch named Ursula. She let me in because I was soaked. She let me in because I was soaked. She had just made soup and offered it to me. Her soup was delicious and while I was drinking it, she offered to predict my future.I replied that I did not believe in these things because I was different from the other inhabitants who believed everything they were told and never dared to set foot in this forest. But she took my hand violently and held it out to her. Her face changed completely in expression and she told me never to fall in love.I asked her why and she replied that I was destined to be in love with many men, to marry them all but to see them all die.I am not believed in all this so I removed my hand from his fingers and I finished my soup.Meanwhile, she kept talking and told me that the only way not to see my love die was to find my soulmate but that before that I should suffer the death of many men. Once the rain stopped, I went back to town and continued my life forgetting this whole story.

At the age of twenty, I fell in love for the first time and I married this man. I was young and very in love. This man was kind and very hardworking. His only fault was his jealousy. He was always careful that I don't talk to other men without his presence. One day, I was walking around town with a friend when a man who worked with my husband told me that he had an accident. When I arrived, he was already dead.

It took me five years to recover from this tragedy and fall in love again. This other man was quite different from my first love, he was much more talkative and much less jealous. I loved him as much as the first one and we got married when I had known him for only 3 days. Every day I loved him more and more but one day he fell very sick and died after two months of suffering.

I was even sadder than for my first marriage and it took me longer to fall in love again. And no surprise: my third husband also died.

I fell in love five times, I married five times and at each marriage I was even more in love and it took me a long time to recover from the deaths of the men I loved. now i make sure i never fall in love with a man again for fear of losing him but my heart keeps loving and i know i would suffer again. So every year I go on a pilgrimage praying that my next love will be true and that my next husband will not die like the last five."

Bath's wife had just finished her story and she had a big smile of hope but a tear of sadness slowly descended her cheek. We all had grief for her.
